So, what is a Dual Key Property?

Updated: Sep 10, 2021

We are not talking about duplexes or two individual properties on one block – simply we are talking about "one dwelling with two incomes.”

The great news is that this type of property has no strata fees, no body corporate fees, no subdivision fees – This is just one build with one set of council lodgement fees. (You may be subject to section 94 contributions depending on your local government area).

At Perry Homes we have a number of dual key floor plans that will fit onto blocks as small as 450m2.

Imagine that, two incomes from one small block – this is the ideal way to maximise your property investment - in plain terms, there is one roof line, the larger portion of the dwelling may contain three/four bedrooms, and ensuite and a main bathroom, kitchen, lounge/dining and usually an undercover alfresco area.  This part of the dwelling is divided by a fire wall* and the secondary or smaller portion (floor to space ratio’s can differ depending upon local council guidelines) of the dwelling consisting of two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living / dining areas.

Each residence is totally private having their own separate addresses, private entries, single garages, letterboxes and defined outdoor spaces.  Each property has an individual set of water and electricity meter box and NBN connections, however the property has only one set of council rates as councils view the construction to be a normal house.
